Knowledge Hub

The C4CE Knowledge Hub is a community knowledge hub developed within Coalition for Community Energy, an Australian network of groups willing to transform their community to net-zero emissions. The hub is a place where users post their own resources and knowledge, anda place to search through resources, watch webinars, create one's own group profile and talk to people about community-lead energy transition.

Relation to DECIDE

The Coalition itself, and therefore the also the hub, has as a main objective spreading knowledge and resources in order to create energy communities.

CEESEN

Network

The Central and Eastern Europe Sustainable Energy Network (CEESEN) is an online platform created to facilitate communication and unite different energy actors in the regions.  With the support of the project partners and the wider involvement of the CEESEN network, organisations and individuals can start to design a sustainable future for their communities. The platform is a result of the H2020 PANEL2050 project (CEESEN platform, Energy Roadmaps and Action Plans promoting and supporting the transition towards a low-carbon community, training material and trainings) and will be further developed in the H2020 CEESEU project (project started in November 2020, development will be done by WWF Hungary). The CEESEU project’s aim is to produce training material and conduct training that helps municipalities to compile and implement the Covenant of Mayors' Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAPs). The CEESEN platform counts about 2500 members (organisations and private members).

The CEESEN platform focuses on sustainability and on energy transition in particular, and energy communities and collective actions, the two pillars of DECIDE, also play a big part in CEESEN’s activity.

CLUE Project

H2020 Project

CLUE - Climate Neutral Urban Districts in Europe is an INTERREG IVC project with the main areas of work being in conceptualising, planning, demonstrating and replicating local user-friendly Energy Communities. CLUE is a consortium of local and regional authorities and universities from 9 European countries aiming to increase the local and regional capacity in policy development, in order to facilitate the implementation and assessment of new solutions and technologies for a low carbon economy in urban areas.

Relation to DECIDE

CLUE is developing a high-quality toolkit for planning and the operation of Local Energy Communities, which can be used as a model for new Energy Communities and energy systems.

COME RES

H2020 Project

COME RES - Community Energy for the uptake of renewables in the electricity sector. Connecting long-term visions with short-term actions – is a project under the EU’s Horizon2020 programme, aimed at facilitating the market uptake of renewable energy sources (RES) in the electricity sector. Specifically, the project focusses on advancing renewable energy communities (RECs) as per the EU’s recast Renewable Energy Directive. COME RES takes a multi- and transdisciplinary approach to support the development of RECs in nine European countries; Belgium, Germany, Italy Latvia, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal and Spain.

Relation to DECIDE

COME RES directly works on and with Renewable Energy Communities in nine european Countries. The project explores the barriers and drivers for RECs in close exchange with local stakeholders. Good practices will be identified and transfered to to other regions taking local, regional and national specific contexts into account.

Community Energy Plus is an award-winning social enterprise providing energy knowledge in order to help householders in Cornwall enjoy warmer, energy efficient homes as part of a more sustainable future. They work in partnership with a wide range of public, private and third sector organisations to support a variety of innovative projects relating to energy efficiency and renewable energy, including community ownership models.

Community energy Plus provides information support on setting up energy communities on a local level in the UK.

Community Energy Wales

Network

Community Energy Wales is a not for profit organisation that provides assistance to community groups working on energy projects in Wales, allowing community energy projects to flourish and communities to prosper. They support groups in developing their projects by providing them a platform for experience and knowledge-exchange. They also gather evidence and advocate and influence the formation of energy policy in Wales in support of delivering clear community energy targets.

Community Power Coalition

Network

The Community Power Coalition brings together a diverse network of like-minded organisations who share a common goal of promoting the development of citizen and community ownership of energy in the urgent transformation towards a 100% renewable energy system. The Coalition includes associations representing energy cooperatives, networks of cities and local authorities, the renewable energy industry, legal experts and diverse environmental NGOs.

Lately, the Coalition has been focussing on the correct implementation of EU legislation regarding RED II and IEMD. All members are active in securing an energy transition with the citizens at its core.

Cooperative

Coopérnico is a cooperative - a social enterprise - that promotes the involvement of citizens in the creation of a new social, economic and environmental paradigm.
They promote collective investment in renewable energy projects and share the benefits among investors, society and the planet. It is the first renewable energy cooperative of Portugal.

Courant d'air

Cooperative

Courant d'Air is a Belgian social enterprise pursuing projects in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency measures. They currently operate 6 wind turbines and have made its first investments in photovoltaics, whilst setting up their first alternative mobility project with a shared electric car. One of the cooperative’s main concerns is raising awareness among citizens, especially young people, about renewable energy and energy efficiency. It has developed an education programme called Generation Zero Watt to incite future generations to be zero watt.

Courant d'Air is  an energy cooperative active in East Flanders, and they are part of the larger network  of REScoop Vlanderen.
