Green Energy Cooperative (ZEZ)

Network

ZEZ is a member of the REScoop.eu management board. They coordinate the work of the technical group for the involvement of citizens in the development of renewable energy sources in the Energy Community, which connects EU member states and their neighbours with the aim of creating a unique pan-European energy market.

Relation to DECIDE

ZEZ assists citizens in the development, investment and use of renewable energy sources, promoting the development of local communities. They also directly support Energy Communities and the organisation of crowdfunding campaigns.

Grid Singularity

Startup

Grid Singularity is developing an interface,  and an open source codebase to model, simulate, optimize and (coming soon) deploy grid-aware energy marketplaces.
Grid Singularity has been proclaimed the World Tech Pioneer by the World Economic Forum and is also known as a co-founder of the Energy Web Foundation that gathers leading energy corporations globally co-developing a shared blockchain-based platform. Our team is guided by the following principles

Relation to DECIDE

Energy communities can be simulated, optimised and eventually operated using Grid Singularity software as active local energy markets with enabled peer-to-peer and community trading, as well as inter-community trading where the regulation allows it.

Local Energy Scotland

Consortium

Local Energy Scotland administers and manages the Scottish Government's Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES), established by the government to encourage local and community ownership of renewable energy and to help maximise the benefits of renewable energy systems to communities - both commercial or community-owned. Local Energy Scotland gives advice and supports shared ownership projects and local energy systems at every stage - from initial planning, through development and funding applications, right up to and beyond the launch.

Relation to DECIDE

Local Energy Scotland has carried out several prohects and pieces of research in the scope of Energy Communities

Magliano Alpi

Renewable Energy Community

Magliano Alpi is a Renewable Energy Community (CER) born in Piedmont at the end of 2020 aiming at creating a new development model based on the production and the sustainable use of energy. Its goal is to revitalise and bring bak value to the territory after the COVID-19 pandemic by retrofit buildings and Energy Communities.

Relation to DECIDE

Magliano Alpi can be a good role model for DECIDE pilots and replicants to learn from an already established Energy Community, especially on regulatory issues.

MUSE GRIDS

H2020 Project

MUSE GRIDS is a project that aims to demonstrate the concept of a “smart energy system” by putting together a set of technological and non-technological solutions targeting the interaction of local energy grids (electricity grids, district heating and cooling networks, water networks, gas grids, electromobility etc.) in order to enable maximisation of local energy independency. It does that by optimising the management of the production via end user-driven control strategies, smart grid functionality, storage and CHP and RES integration.

Relation to DECIDE

MUSE Grids will implement two large-scale pilot projects in in a European urban area (OSIMO) and a European rural area (OUD HEVERLEE), both with a weak connection with the national energy grid and energy markets. By doing this, they will demonstrate how to interconnect local energy grids; how to utilise synergies in the energy system to maximise efficiency, reduce costs, CO2 emissions and energy losses; and how to reach affordable energy independency mainly maximising local self-consumption based on RES.

Our Energy

Online platform

Our Energy is an online platform providing short, expert-reviewed content for people that want to gather information and find more about clean energy communities. A network feature will be available for registered users in 2021, that way people will be able to exchange with other experts, best practice examples, policymakers etc. directly.

Relation to DECIDE

The platform is intended for energy communities and their members, for them to acquire new knowledge and advance.
